2020 color trends to incorporate this summer

From fashion and music, to hairstyle and design schemes, trends tend to sneak up on us on a regular basis. When it comes to decorating your house, though, color trends should only be followed when you absolutely adore them and they match your personality and style.

The colors you chose should be based on the mood you want to create for your space.  Trends can be used in small amounts, depending on how much you personally like them.

If you are interested in giving your home a new look, now’s a great time to dive into some of the most trendy summer colors of 2020. The following shades can bring liveliness to any room in your home when used properly:

Something fun: Peachy coral or terra cotta
Looking to bring warmth to a space that feels cold and dreary? Peachy coral is a shade that’s been trending for a while and doesn’t show any signs of going away soon. Terra cotta is another trendy hue that can make any room feel warmer. Both shades can make bold statements as wall colors, but can also be dispersed throughout the home as accents instead if you’re not willing to take the larger risk.

The perfect accent: Yellow
If neutral is more your style, there’s nothing wrong with that. Yellow is a great trendy shade that can be used as an accent tone or added to a neutral room as a breath of fresh air during the summer.

Yellow makes the perfect accent in a neutral room.

A pop of yellow can add a sunny smile to an otherwise grey or neutral room.  Adding some pillows, accessories, or a fun accent chair are smaller, simpler ways to give your room an update with some new colors!

Consider this shade in spaces that deserve more attention, such as the mudroom, entryway or guestroom.

A trend that will never die: Still blues and greens
If there’s style that’ll remain trendy for years, it’s earth tones. Greens, blues and browns, or shades inspired by the tones of the earth can look great throughout your home when used together.  The color family that represents parts of the earth, such as water, sky, dirt, and grass, will continue for years to come and we’ll never get tired of.

If you feel as though you have more time on your hands to spruce up your living space, choosing a new color scheme based off of one of these trendy hues is a great way to express yourself, curb feelings of boredom and rejuvenate your home.
